About Snow Rider 3D

What is Snow Rider 3D?

Snow Rider 3D is a free 3D sled game that runs in your browser. You ride down an endless, procedurally generated snowy mountain, steer around trees, rocks and snowmen, jump over logs and rolling snowballs, and collect gifts along the way. Your score is the distance you cover in meters, and one crash ends the run.

The game's buttons and menus are in English. The website around it is available in 12 languages, which you can switch with the Change language link in the footer.

Is it free? Do I need to download anything?

Snow Rider 3D is completely free. There is nothing to download or install and no account to create: open the home page and press Play. The site is supported by ads shown around the game, never inside it, so a run is never interrupted by an ad. Every sled in the shop is either free or bought with gifts you collect while playing, never with money.

Is this site connected to other Snow Rider games?

No. SnowRider.game is an independent site, and the Snow Rider 3D you play here is our own version, written from scratch for this site in 2026. We are not affiliated with other games, apps or sites that use the Snow Rider name, so features, sleds and saved progress from other versions do not carry over here.

Playing the game

How do I control the sled?

On a keyboard, steer with ← / → or A / D and jump with Space, ↑ or W. Press P or Esc to pause and M to mute or unmute the sound. The sled keeps steering for as long as you hold a direction, so short presses give small corrections.

On a phone or tablet, press and hold the left or right half of the screen to steer. Swipe up or tap the jump button in the bottom-right corner to jump, and tap the pause button in the top-right corner to pause.

What ends a run?

One crash. Hitting a snowy pine tree, a rock, a snowman, a log or a giant rolling snowball ends the run straight away. The game over screen then shows your distance, the gifts from that run and your best distance, with Ride again and Shop buttons. Ramps are the exception: riding over one launches you into a big jump instead of a crash.

Which obstacles can I jump over?

Logs are low and meant to be jumped. Giant snowballs can be jumped too, or dodged by steering out of their way as they roll across the slope. Rocks are low enough to jump as well. Snowmen are tall, so only a well-timed jump gets you over one, and pine trees are too tall to jump at all, so steer around them. Ramps are not obstacles at all: riding over one throws you into a big jump, sometimes toward gifts floating above it.

Does the game get harder the farther I ride?

Yes. Speed and obstacle density both increase gradually with distance. There are no separate levels or difficulty settings: the slope simply gets faster and busier the longer you survive, so every extra hundred meters takes a little more skill than the last.

Why does the sky change color?

The time of day follows your distance. A run starts in the morning, and roughly every 1,500 meters the light moves on to afternoon, sunset and night, with stars and moonlight, before starting over. Sunset comes at around 3,000 meters and night at about 4,500 meters. It is an easy way to see how far you have come without looking at the counter.

Gifts, sleds and saved progress

How do gifts work?

Each wrapped present you ride through adds 1 gift, and a rare golden gift adds 5. Gifts are the game's currency: they are added to your total, which is saved between runs, and you spend them on sleds in the shop. During a run the on-screen counter shows the gifts from that run, while the start screen shows your saved total. Keep an eye on ramps, because gifts sometimes float above them.

Do the expensive sleds ride better?

No. All eight sleds handle exactly the same, from the free Wooden Classic to the Golden Sleigh at 1,000 gifts. The cheapest paid sled, the Red Racer, costs 50 gifts. The shop is purely cosmetic, so buy whichever sled you like the look of. Our sled guide lists every sled with its price.

Where is my progress saved?

In your browser, on the device you play on. That covers your best distance, your gift total, the sleds you own, the sled you have selected and your sound setting. Nothing is stored in an account, because there is no account. Your progress stays in that browser between visits, so you can close the page and come back later to the same gifts and sleds.

What happens if I clear my browser data or use another device?

Clearing this site's data in your browser resets your progress: your best distance and gift total go back to zero, and only the free Wooden Classic remains. Each browser on each device keeps its own save, so playing somewhere else starts fresh, and progress cannot be moved from one device to another.

Devices and troubleshooting

Which devices and browsers can run Snow Rider 3D?

Any modern desktop or mobile browser with WebGL support, which includes current versions of the common browsers on computers, phones and tablets. Use the keyboard on a computer and the touch controls on a phone or tablet.

The game does not load. What can I try?

Snow Rider 3D needs WebGL to draw the mountain. Update your browser to its latest version, make sure hardware acceleration is turned on in its settings and reload the page. Closing other heavy tabs can also help on older devices. If it still does not start, write to us and tell us your device and browser.

The keys do nothing, or there is no sound. What is wrong?

If the keys do not respond, click once on the game so it has keyboard focus, then try again. If a run seems frozen, it is probably paused: the game pauses itself when you switch tabs, so press Resume.

If you hear nothing, the sound may be muted. Press M, or use the sound toggle on the start screen or in the pause menu, and check your device volume.

How do I report a bug or send feedback?

Email hello@snowrider.game or use our contact form. For a bug report, tell us your device, your browser and what happened just before the problem, so we can reproduce it and fix it. Ideas and general feedback about the game or the site are welcome too.
